don't try to get expressions at the session.

don't prep the child before the session on what to do..smile..pay attention....look at camera/photographer

don't practice smiles

don't get upset with child at session

don't pose the child.

do

do smile at your child if they are nervous and look your way.

help the photographer if asked

mom's roll is to keep child comfortable and keep her relaxed

mom should not talk during the session unless asked

get employee to help rather than mom

other

one person will be allowed with the child who is being photographed. All other adults and children not being photographed will be asked to step back ....don't want any other distractions
