Complimentary Colors

I was walking Trinity -my dog- yesterday and saw this Coca Cola cap on the ground. It's rather interesting because of the bright red color, the white text, the wavy edge, the metal it's made of -it makes clinky noises- and of course the memories it has for me of summers in the 60's -my childhood- think of The Sandlot. I picked it up and kept on walking.

When I got home I took it out of my pocket and put it on the kitchen windowsill. Today I noticed it and decided I wanted to do something with it. Green is the complimentary color -opposite color on the color wheel- of red, and opposite colors on the color wheel make each other stand out really well. So I wanted to use green to really make the red cap pop. I thought of the green grass in the yard but it was raining pretty hard and I'm a bit too much of a worry wart to take my Nikon outside when it's so wet. So I put the Coca Cola cap back on the windowsill and started to make my daily green drink. Into the blender went healthy stuff like spinach, kale, and an orange to help it taste better. -How do those cows eat so much grass?- As I'm drinking it I realize it's a really pretty green so I pour some onto a white plate, drop the Coca Cola cap in the middle, and start to shoot. I took about 40 shots. I like this one the best. I love how the green makes the red pop and the red makes the green pop.
