I love portraits that document a child's journey to adulthood. Having those memories in print is one of dearest things to me. I know I'll enjoy looking at them for the rest of my life.

I purchased a uniform for my daughter to wear while we made these photographs. School portraits don't require a uniform of course, but I felt it just looked more school-ish:)

Kiyah just loves the outfit and really enjoyed making these pictures. The black shoes came off fast though, as they were hurting her feet. Sore feet brought back memories of my childhood in Scotland. We wore uniforms to school: A gray skirt, kilt style. A gray sweater, or a blazer for the boys. A white shirt. A teal, white and blue tie. White or gray knee socks, dark blue undies, and very uncomfortable shoes.

The shoes just killed my feet for the first 2 months I wore them. They finally got broken in just in time for mom to say they needed to be replaced. The piggy tails that I got every morning were another source of discomfort, too tight! My goodness! I'm surprised I was able to concentrate on schoolwork:)

So here are a few of the photographs we made for our Better School Portraits program. She loved the jumping one the best.

We had so much fun that I think we'll head out to another location and make some more. Maybe the Cathedral of the Madeleine. It's one beautiful building:)
