As a long time mother -32 years- and a long time dog lover -all of my life- I know how fast children grow up, and how fast dogs grow old and pass along.  Being almost too aware of those things put a fire under me. I got in gear, and made this portrait.

I know I've said this before but portraits are so important in documenting life. Cell phones sure make it easier to keep it up too. When I was little, my parents had one baby photo made of me. I was about 18 months old. It doesn't seem to bother my mother at all but that's the way it was for most people at that time I'd be ill if that's all I had of my children as babies. I have thousands! Of course I may have more than most people, and I don't know that thousands are needed, but I think most parents want a lot. Either way, keep snapping, my friends! Our memories are not that good. We need photos!
