Toddler Fun!

Toddlers are the most adorable little energizer bunnies! They are fascinating to watch. It's entertaining to see them go from one "project" to the next. If you pay attention, you can almost read their minds.

It goes something like this:

.......................

"What will happen if I pull this cord?"

"Nothing"

"What will happen if I pull it as hard as I can?"

Crash!

........................

"I'm going to throw a rock at the flowers."

"Mom went nuts!"

Got removed from the flower patch.

.......................

"What happens if I dump my dinner on the floor for the dog?"

"Mom is not happy again."

"Dog is sure happy though."

......................

My daughter is 11 years old now. She's my youngest. I love to watch her pick up new words, new drawing techniques, new ways of handling life, stresses. She's become "Dog Patrol" too. Dogs bark outside. She runs out and brings them inside. It's one of life's pleasures for me to observe and enjoy children's learning processes.

This little guy had fallen asleep on the way to the session. He was not very happy being woken up to discover he was in a new place, and was wondering what was going on. We all relaxed and played with him while he adjusted, then the fun began. He ran and ran and ran.

The portraits where he is shy and quiet were made after he woke up a bit but was still feeling snuggly with mom and dad. The rest were made while he ran to mom and dad, played hugging and kissing mom and dad games, threw the ball I made for him, and the doll. Mom said, "It was really fun being able to do a photo shoot where Landen actually showed his personality!"

Don't feel that you can't have portraits made of your youngster.  All it takes are patience and having fun.

Here are their portraits. We had a blast!
