"Dream-Karakter" IllustrationSome people love to plan every millimeter of their drawings before they lift the paint brush. Although there is nothing wrong with that at all, I would never draw if I had to do that. At most I get an idea from something I've done, seen, touched, tasted, in the previous few days, hours, minutes, seconds, that gives me a shape, color, feeling, squiggle, to start drawing with. This drawing started with a squiggle that reminds me of my 21 year old son's long curly hair.
The character (Karakter) did have a lot of pink in it originally. I decided it wasn't working though so black and white it is. See you on the flip side! Karen MacDuff Squires Comments
