Paper Flower Art

June 22, 2016  •  Leave a Comment

The first time I remember making paper flowers was when I was about 7 years old. I received a kit for Christmas. I used the entire kit in one sitting and was left wanting to make more. We were flat broke though so that was the end of it.

I never forgot how much fun it was though, and as an adult I'd occasionally remember making those flowers.  For some reason I never got back into it, until recently.

I saw a tutorial on making big paper flowers the other day and fell in love all over again. I've always loved larger than life photographic prints. I print my children's portraits at least 16x20". Even that seems small on the wall. So large 20" flowers just grab my heart!

I have so many design ideas flowing through my head. I'm also dying to make some peonies, huge of course!

My latest favorite thing to do is to set up the card stock, scissors, hot glue, and the templates, on my kitchen counter. My daughter turns on Pretty Little Liars, and we binge watch while I make huge flowers. I hope to get her involved too. She usually draws while we watch. She's quite the artist.

Thanks for stopping by!
